Dining Room & Bar Seating

Good morning!

I thought I would post a couple of photos of the seating areas in the cottage.

The favorite spot is always the bar seating! Right?!? You can test the food, converse with the cook and you have a bird's eye view of all of the activity......

The bar comfortably seats 3..........

The dining room table is a simple farm table that comfortably seats 4. The dining room is open to the living room and kitchen.......it makes for a fun and comfortable way to enjoy meals with family and friends!

kitchen.....

Good morning!

I thought I would share a few photos of the sweet little kitchen in our dear little cottage.

As you head from the living room into the kitchen, this is your first view of the kitchen.......dark wood floors, beautiful dark wood countertops, classic farmhouse sink and AMAZING cabinetry.....

The dishwasher is to the right of the sink.....it's hidden behind a cabinet panel........

The hubby is a very talented cabinet maker.....look at his attention to the details......crazy talented.....I am a lucky girl!!

Take a look to your left and you will see the little coffee nook......

36" gas range for your cooking pleasure.......

The hubby custom built wood {beech wood} countertops. The sealing process took 2 weeks in a heated environment. Not only are they incredibly beautiful, they are very durable as well.

The cabinets are a DARK GRAY with a MOCHA GLAZE. They add warmth and period appropriate character.

And there you have a few photos of the kitchen!

Hope you have a lovely day. I will be back with photos of the bar/dining area......

living room.....

Hello!

Today I thought I would post some photos of the living room.

The living room is cozy and full of character.....

Let's head back down the stairs......

The little living room comfortably seats 4.

The dark, hand-scraped wood floor adds warmth and character to the space. The walls have all be re-plastered and painted to give the space a clean look, but still hold true to the age of the home.

Custom cabinetry hides the 52" plasma TV which is mounted above the fireplace......

As you can see, the little living room serves it purpose perfectly:

~comfortable seating
~TV viewing
~cozy fireplace
~plenty of natural light
~warm and inviting

Next, we will take a look around the kitchen and dining room!

Cheers!!

welcome....

Welcome!

I thought I would share some photos of the new cottage.

When we bought the home 3 years ago, we decided it needed a complete renovation. The attic was not livable space. With a first floor foot print of 1000 sf we needed to add some square footage!

We started the renovation upstairs.....adding an office and master suite. Our reasoning for starting upstairs you ask? So we would have a finished, clean space to sleep in and rest our weary heads!

Anyways, here we go with our little "tour."

After walking in the front door, we head right on up the stairs...........

To the left is the office, to the right is suite {bedroom + bathroom}

Since space is limited, everything is built-in and painted a crisp, clean white. The funky attic walls make for a perfectly cozy retreat!

The queen bed is built-in {of course!} and is a cozy place to curl up and watch a little tv!

We made sure to add plenty of lighting since natural light is a precious commodity upstairs.

Steps from the bed is the bathroom. Did you know that this bathroom was featured on HGTV's 'Bang for your Buck?' Yep, we lost. We "over remodeled" for the neighborhood, but we don't care!

The upstairs office/master suite was also featured in the Jan./Feb. issue of THIS OLD HOUSE magazine. So fun!

And there you have the upstairs bedroom + bathroom.

We will look at some more of the space in a few days!
