OK girls.....here is a wonderful little festival you won't want to miss.
I'm not saying the boys don't appreciate lavender, I'm just saying you will probably enjoy this event more with your girlfriends....
The Oregon Lavender Festival is July 10th & 11th.
It's held in Yamhill, at Beulah Park. Beulah Park is a serene and beautiful setting.....tall oak trees and grass fields......
This is what the festival's website lists for activities the days of the event.....
- enjoy locally produced food and wine, many products made with lavender
- visit Yamhill's Beulah Park with booths featuring products hand-made by local artists
- watch craftspeople demonstrate their skills
- learn how lavender oil is distilled from the plants
- view (or buy) local artists' paintings of the area's scenery
- cut some lavender! (each location supplies scissors)
- buy lavender products made in Oregon as well as brought in specially from Provence, France
- learn how to make a lavender wand, sachet, or wreath
- ask the experts your questions about growing lavender
- enjoy the countryside
- listen to local bands
- get a massage
- relax - that's what lavender is known for!
Sounds pretty good to me! |
